We won’t damage or cause any signs of forced entry when opening car doors as our skilled team have professional tools and are experts at car lock picking. Although most cars can be opened within seconds, others can take a bit longer. Car Key Programming
Keys 4 Cars Ltd. provide a quick and easy mobile car key programming service. We can either visit you at home or you can come to our Gravesend workshop if you prefer.
Most car keys have an integrated transponder chip that’s used to deactivate the immobiliser which means the key will need to be programmed to the car. Don’t worry, we’ve got all the equipment necessary to program virtually any car key ( although a tiny percentage may still need coding by your main dealer). Just let us know the make and model and we’ll tell you if we can help. We usually like to supply a new key with programming as it allows us to make sure the correct transponder chip and key are used.
Car Key Repairs
With age, keys can become worn and snap off in locks, causing an unexpected headache. If this happens to you, don’t panic! We can refurbish, repair or replace keys that have problems AND save you money over a full key replacement. Similarly, if your key has lost its sharp grooves and you’re struggling to open your door or turn the ignition barrel, let us take care of it before it stops working altogether or snaps off in the barrel. Make sure you keep our number handy if this ever happens to you and you find yourself stranded in Sheerness ME12.
Car Lock Repairs
Although it’s mainly the key that gets damaged, occasionally the lock itself might be the problem. If the door lock or ignition barrel becomes worn or is damaged, it can cause the key to get stuck. If this happens to you we can visit you in Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey to repair or replace either the door lock or ignition barrel.
The majority of car locks are made up of between 6-10 wafers. All it takes is for 1 of the wafers to become worn for the key to be unable to meet the wafer, meaning an issue will eventually develop with locking, unlocking or starting your car. We know all the tricks of the trade to remove, replace and/or repair the necessary parts without any damage to your car.

Sheerness – Did you know?
Sheerness was a pretty deserted place before the 1500s due to its remote and relatively inaccessible location. It started to become populated shortly afterwards though as the building of a fort, which was designed to protect the area from possible invasion, was underway. Around the 1600s, work began on the building of Sheerness Dockyard, which was a place where ships could be repaired and this remained the case right up until the 1960s. A century earlier, Sheerness also began to be regarded as a small holiday resort, with the building of a pier, a promenade and some local attractions.
Sheerness and Isle of Sheppey is perhaps most well-known for the SS Richard Montgomery, a WW2 cargo ship carrying a vast quantity of explosives, which sank just off the coast of Sheerness and has never been recovered. At the time of writing, the explosives are still onboard and its thought that if they did explode, it would be one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history.
Sheerness was also the home of the first multi-storey building with a rigid metal frame. The trailblazing Sheerness Boat Store paved the way for the modern-day sky-scrapers we see all over the world.
