Car key cutting – Even if it’s not an emergency, there are numerous reasons why you might want a replacement car key cut. Perhaps the spare has gone missing or your key is simply wearing out or gets bent accidentally. Whatever the reason, we’ll be happy to provide you with a new or duplicate key AND program it/them to your vehicle and immobiliser at the same time – all for a price that’ll be much cheaper than your local Chislehurst main dealer.
Car Opening Anywhere in Chislehurst
We have all the necessary tools to provide a fast, damage-free car entry service in Chislehurst. It’s a common problem to either lose your keys or accidentally lock them in your car. We won’t damage or cause any signs of forced entry when opening car doors as our skilled team have professional tools and are experts at car lock picking. Although most cars can be opened within seconds, others can take a bit longer. Either way, we’ll have you back on the road in no time, and at a cheaper price than you’d likely have to pay if you visited your main dealer in Chislehurst.
Car Key Programming for Chislehurst Drivers
Keys 4 Cars Ltd. provide a quick and easy mobile car key programming service. We can either visit you at home or you can come to our Gravesend workshop if you prefer.
Most car keys have an integrated transponder chip that’s used to deactivate the immobiliser which means the key will need to be programmed to the car. Don’t worry, we’ve got all the equipment necessary to program virtually any car key ( although a tiny percentage may still need coding by your main dealer). Just let us know the make and model and we’ll tell you if we can help. We usually like to supply a new key with programming as it allows us to make sure the correct transponder chip and key are used.
Chislehurst Car Key Repairs
With age, keys can become worn and snap off in locks, causing an unexpected headache. If this happens to you, don’t panic! We can refurbish, repair or replace keys that have problems AND save you money over a full key replacement. Similarly, if your key has lost its sharp grooves and you’re struggling to open your door or turn the ignition barrel, let us take care of it before it stops working altogether or snaps off in the barrel. Make sure you keep our number handy if this ever happens to you and you find yourself stranded in Chislehurst.
Car Lock Repairs
Although it’s mainly the key that gets damaged, occasionally the lock itself might be the problem. If the door lock or ignition barrel becomes worn or is damaged, it can cause the key to get stuck. If this happens to you we can visit you in Chislehurst to repair or replace either the door lock or ignition barrel.
The majority of car locks are made up of between 6-10 wafers. All it takes is for 1 of the wafers to become worn for the key to be unable to meet the wafer, meaning an issue will eventually develop with locking, unlocking or starting your car. We know all the tricks of the trade to remove, replace and/or repair the necessary parts without any damage to your car.

Fascinating Chislehurst facts
The name ‘Chislehurst’ comes from two old Saxon words; cisel (gravel) and hyrst (wooded hill). this appears to be validated on the Bromley Council website which confirms this by suggesting that the name was first recorded around 955 and 973 AD. The page says it means ” The wooded hill where the ground is gravelly”.
Chislehurst has also had quite a few famous residents bost past and present. For example, Napoleon Bonaparte (whose first name was actually Louis), lived in Chislehurst. William Camden, who owned Camden Place lived there, as did Malcolm Campbell was born in Chislehurst and also died there. You can see his grave in St. Nicholas Parish Church where he’s buried next to his parents.
Chislehurst is well known for its caves. If you’ve never visited the caves, you really should. The caves are an astonishing 22-mile long collection of tunnels that are interconnected and they were used for chalk and flint mining from the 13th to the 19th centuries. Many locals think that they’re naturally occurring but they are in fact entirely man-made. During the 1960s, Chislehurst caves became a music venue and boasted performers such as David Bowie, Status Quo, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin.
